What are your views on the general principles of the Bill and
the need for legislation to deliver the Welsh Government’s
stated policy objective (to make the Senedd a more effective
legislature by ensuring it is broadly representative of the gender
make-up of the population)?
This doesn’t define what a woman is -
leaving it open to abuse. This will end up in Supreme Court and
damage Wales’ reputation. It doesn’t comply with the
equalities act 2010. The bill is unnecessary - and if it were
necessary the definition of woman should be that of female sex.
What are your views on the system of enforcement and potential
sanctions for non-compliance proposed in the Bill?
No strong views. Disagree with premise of
bill.

adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying
